Mid-America Science Museum Additions & Renovations

Mid-America Science Museum Additions & Renovations

Nabholz served as general contractor for the original build of the Mid-America Science Museum in 1978. When the museum decided to undergo a complete remodel almost 40 years later, they called on us once again.

This museum construction project included 40,500 square feet of renovations to existing exhibit halls, galleries, legacy exhibits, and the café. New exterior additions include a 240-foot-long skywalk, rope bridge, net circle, and a beautiful treehouse – all of which allow visitors to explore natural elements at tree-level. Also, as part of this project, our Industrial Services team helped to restore the replica mastodon skeleton, now on display in the museum lobby. Read more about this unique aspect of the project here: Restoring Replica Mastodon Skeleton.
