When CARTI decided to begin the largest construction project in their history, they had a few key goals in mind: (1) Create a comprehensive cancer treatment center where patients could receive all of their outpatient care under one roof; (2) build a space where the latest in technology and treatments could be delivered to patients as part of a personal, memorable, and transforming healing experience; (3) develop an environment of care for the whole patient—both physically and emotionally—in a serene, comfortable space where the patient can focus on healing, rather than the stress of the disease; and (4) design every square foot of the project with the cancer patient in mind.
To achieve this CARTI partnered with Nabholz to construct a new 175,000-square-foot Cancer Center and 175,000-square-foot parking garage. Features of the state-of-the-art facility include 97 exam rooms; diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, & chemotherapy suites; appearance center; resource center; rooftop garden; healing garden with fountain; indoor/outdoor cafe; 518-space parking garage; and custom interior finishes to create a natural outdoor environment indoors.
The project also required development of a new 10-acre site, including extensive earthwork, storm drainage system, landscaping & irrigation, and paving & parking.
