Arkansas Military Aviation Support Facility

Nabholz served as the general contractor for a new $33 million, 189,000-square-foot Army aviation support facility located at Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The two-story structure serves as headquarters for Arkansas Army National Guard’s aviation brigade, including its fleet of Black Hawk helicopters.

The impressive facility spans the breadth of two football fields and provides a centralized economical point of control for operations and maintenance for Arkansas’ assigned aviation assets.  The facility is also used to assist in conducting tactical and non-tactical support, flight planning, and simulation training for pilots and crewmembers.

Extensive site-work was required on this project, involving more than one million square feet of asphalt and concrete paving for aircraft staging. The primary building comprises 152,170 square feet with hangar space as well as classrooms; locker; latrines; administrative, supply, and maintenance facilities; and fire/crash rescue units. The project also includes two separate unheated storage buildings, an outbuilding for Controlled Waste and Flammable Storage, an observation deck, and a two-story courtyard providing day lighting and force protection.
