Nabholz was selected to serve as General Contractor on this $35 million structure while the project was in the design phase. NW Quad is the first new residence hall to be constructed on the UA campus since the late 1960s, and in order to meet the University's need for additional housing by the 2004 fall term, Nabholz began construction utilizing the Fast Track method. This method permitted ten months of construction to be completed, while the design documents were being finalized; therefore, accomplishing the July 2004 project target date.
The 252,000-square-foot complex, designed by 'Polk Stanley Rowland Curzon Porter Architects', includes a quartet of four-story buildings located on a three-acre development and will house approximately 600 residents. Students will enjoy living in two, three, and four bedroom suites that are designed to compete with off-campus living. Each suite is independently climate controlled and offers private bedrooms with telephone and Ethernet connections, bathrooms and a living area with cable television, microwave and mini-fridge.
The multi-use facility also contains classrooms, meeting rooms, lounges, kitchen, dining area, laundry and the Faculty in Residence apartment and office.
